House of the Potion Maker

Walking down Northern Street, you see a small cabin. The chimmney is smoking, and a large candle burns in the window. You walk up the stone path. The door ahead of you is large, built with maple, and lined with steel. A large steel padlock locks the door. You turn the key, and hear a loud series of what sounds like 15 gears turning. Pushing on the door, you enter.

Inside, you see a living area, and a kitchen area. You look around the living area. Bookcases are on every unused wall. You read some of the titles: Potion Making for Dummies, 101 Potions and Their Uses, Potion Making for Beginners, Intermediate Potions, Advanced Potions, and Potions So Difficult, That the Makers of This Book Didn't Know How to Make Them. You pick up a book, and try to read it but the words simply disappear. You also can tell that whoever lives here is messy. Books are scattered around on the floor. You walk over to the fireplace, which is burning merrily. A small, neat pile of wood is stacked next to the fireplace. You look on the mantlepiece, and notice it is empty. You walk to the couch, and see that between the couch, coffee table, and fireplace, there is a small television. A rug covers a small area of the floor.

You then walk into the kitchen, which, despite the small size, is packed with the latest kitchen technology: a microwave, a blender, and a food processor. Next the the refrigrator is a wood burning stove, which has a some pots on it. Looking at the sink, you see it is empty. You notice that there is no table, and realize whoever lives here eats at the coffee table in the living room.

You leave the kitchen, and head up the stairs. There is a small landing, and a single door. You walk into this room. This is the bedroom. The bed is unmade. Next to the bed is a small night stand, which hold small protection amulets, a large candle, and a few books. Next to the nightstand is a small little case, hanging from the wall. This case holds a staff. The case, as you notice, is made of yew, and looks like it is reinforced with a strange looking steel-platinum hybrid metal. The glass looks magic reinforced with an unknown spell. This room has a large armchair, and a single bookcase, which looks like it has more books than the Library of Congess. You open the door in this room, which opens to a small closet. A small hook on the door has a black, weathered travelling cloak hanging from it. A pair of shoes is on the floor of this closet, and you notice on the shelf, there is one blue hat. Hanging from the only hanger, is blue magic armor.

You realize you have looked through all the rooms, and hastily leave.

15 gears? And I thought I was the paranoid one.

She looks at the coffee table and noticed that one too many times it's been used as a dining table and the wood was marred with water rings and other marks. She cringed, and felt sorry for the table.
Tsk.
She flicks her hand once on the table. Red sparkes floated down from her fingertips gently onto the markings on the table like snow. Unlike snow, however, the moment it reaches the wooden surface, it ignites into a flame, burning the areas where the marks were on then dying out almost immediately as it started, leaving no trace at all. he table seemed as good as new.

She takes a quick sweeping glance around, and decided it was too much for her...
Urhhh...I can't stand it. This is too messy, even for a witch.
Having said so, she stomped out hurriedly.

Hey, I barely have time to clean up. I'm busy making potions...

When the Library opens, I'm considering writing a book about potions. But I'm not doing an ingredient book....Maybe a place to find basic ingredients...or a history of potions

Hm, a guide to finding ingredients would be very useful, but it'll be more useful if your readers know what they are for and how to use them.

Yes, but that would basically be telling them how to make the potions.

Which, I take it is not the purpose of your book?

Smart of you to think that. Protecting both of our business. Hm, perhaps I owe you more credit that I thought.

The least you could do is tell them what those ingredients are for. For example:
Black Grass. Found in : Mines
Good for fatigue and stamina recovery. Often used in health potions.

That's the second thing I'm gonna need. A librarian. Add that after the wand and/or wand maker, that is. Grins

Temporarily that will do. But in the long run, we would eventually need people to run the library and a wandmaker, as proper jobs.

Yea, i know, thats why we need more ppl to join us.

Wat she meant was A level(Cambridge Pre U) the 'ers' is the same meaning in the word villagers.

And we do realize that we are 12 hours different from your place, thats why we wonders why we can meet u online quite often..(except the times we slept really late or wake up really early)

I was perfectly serious when I said we need a librarian and a wand maker. You can't have a learing institution without books, or somewhere to keep them. And magic users need their wands. It's a basic necessity.
