Stupid guy trying to understand sayings

Try to mess up sayings here then let another guy correct you and then say an even more messed up version.

Example:
Person #1: The dog is out of the bag
Person #2: You mean cat
Person #1 (again): The cat is out of the dog

[Real saying is Apples don't fall to far from the trees]
Trees don't fall to far from plants.
